The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru has a clean and precise bouquet, more low-key and understated than the Les Beaux Monts, the fruit profile leaning more towards the red side of the fruit spectrum. The stem addition is barely recognizable. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. Sapid and refined, it gently builds in the mouth towards a tensile, focused finish. This beautiful Malconsorts will age beautifully over 20 to 25 years and more.

A rich intense purple. The bouquet has the enhanced heady qualities I associate with Malconsorts. Some peonies perhaps, then a lush but stable fruit across the palate, with a wealth behind, which does indeed cover the tannins. Persistent. This Malconsorts is a firmly constructed wine with stable tannins, also the flesh to cover them. Drink from 2032-2040.
