In the Vineyard
Pure Nerello Mascalese, noble native variety of Etna.
The vines, located between 700 and 750 m asl, subsist on sandy volcanic soil, rich in minerals, with a sub-acid reaction. The vines, from 10 to 20 years of age, are trained espalier, spurred cordon, with a planting density of 6,000-7,000 plants per hectare and a yield of 7,000-8,000 kg / ha. The climate is mountain and high hills, humid and rainy in the coldest season, with high ventilation and significant thermal excursions.
