This is the second wine of classed growth Château la Gaffelière. Dominated by Merlot, the wine has weight as well as a rich, velvety texture supporting the powerful black fruits. As befits a second wine, this should develop relatively quickly and generously.

This is wound up nicely with brambly, fresh red and dark berries, as well as light mocha and Middle Eastern spices. The palate has punchy flavors delivered in suave, fine tannins and attractive full body. Drink or hold.

Almost all Merlot, this second wine is spicy and dense while also packed with fruit. Its ripe tannins and light structure show aging potential. Full of perfumed acidity giving a rich backdrop, the wine will be ready from 2026.
