The 6-hectare Quinta do Cume has a state-of-the-art wine press — the realm of oenologist Jean-Hugues Gros. He had studied at the Ecole des Vins de Bourgogne before working in wine-growing regions in Morocco, California, Bordeaux and Champagne, and finally chose the Douro Valley, where he worked with great success. “Flor” means flower and “cume” is the top of the mountain in Portuguese: This “flower of the mountain top.”
