Giulia Negri crafts gorgeous Barolos from her holdings in La Morra. The wines are transparent and super-expressive. Sustainable farming practices and minimalist winemaking are among the protocols here. I only have two small critiques. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir seem superfluous. I am not sure those can ever be truly great or distinctive wines here. I would also like to see more differentiation among the Barolos, but that’s a small quibble at this level. Giuli Negri is young, committed and making superb Barolos that deserve serious attention.
