One of Bordeaux's biggest names, the Pomerol appellation and region is arguably the figurehead of the region's so-called "Right Bank", Merlot-based wines. Pomerol is a much-respected red wine appellation in the Bordeaux region of southwestern France, known for its red wines based on Merlot. Many commands very high prices.

94 points Decanter Bright ruby and damson fruits, violet-tinged, this is just gorgeous. Plump rich fruit, softened by just over a decade in bottle. It has gentle woodsmoke and earth rounding out the already softened tannins, and overall just a juicy, rich wine that is packed full of Pomerol seduction. (JA) (4/2020)

93 points James Suckling Ripe and exotic wine with lots of ripe fruit such as plum and berry. Chocolate too. Full body, chewy tannins and a long finish. Walnut. Chocolate finish. Decadent. (7/2017)
