This is, unarguably, one of the best Chateauneuf-du-Pape reds made in the world today. Yes - it has its more famous cousins like the Rayas, Beaucastels, Vieux Donjons out there. However, in this elite group, the Boisrenard cuveé from Domaine de Baurenard stands alone in its uniqueness. Still using the historical 13+ varietal blend (one of literally, a handful doing this), sourced from truly ancient vines (some aging 100+ years) that are Demeter-certified biodynamic and organic, by 8th-generation proprietors, this is a wine that transcends time. It has scored 96 or higher from the top names in the trade every year almost to memory (sample scores attached), and the current 2020 vintage just received one of its top scores from Decanter Magazine - 96 points (AND 99 FROM JEB DUNNUCK!).
